Making the best use of your budget is the most important thing when starting the process of getting a web presence.

The First things we would ask the prospective company to do is:-
• Examine your Marketing Budget for your proposed venture.
• Decide what type of presence you need.
• Look at the future and make a plan.
• Contact Us.

Marketing Budget.

If you can understand that the World Wide Web is Dynamic, constantly moving and changing, then it will help you when you budget for it within your marketing strategy.

We would rather refuse your custom than set you up with a product that is going to collapse, or you discard further down the line.
Any Dead URL's (Uniform Resource Locators (the www.website a user enters into his browser)) related to our company, gives a bad impression on us. It serves us much better if our customers are showing good performance.

Your budget should be chosen as you would any marketing budget, just as you would chose how much to put into TV marketing, or Magazine marketing etc. The best marketing strategy for your company is one that is going to gain good returns for the amount of time, energy and money spent on them.
If you feel that Marketing on the world wide web is not going to produce a good return, then you would not put so much of your marketing budget into that project.
If you feel that the web is going to gain the best return for your money then that should reflect in the percentage of the Marketing budget you use for the project.

What Type Of Site?
The type of site you need to go for would, in part, reflect the amount of budget you are able to put in.
At the same time you should also be looking ahead.

  1. A Single Page :-
A Single page site is just what it says really, A SINGLE PAGE. It has no links to any other pages in the site because it only has one page. - more

  2. A static Site :-
A static site can consist of any number of pages linked to one another so you can access each page as you progress through the site. - more

  3. A Dynamic Site :-
A dynamic site is like a static site in that it is pages linked to one another, but there is interaction allowed between the user and the site, making the whole site interactive and dynamic. - more

  4. An E-Commerce Site :-
An E-Commerce site is a dynamic site that has the benefit of being able to sell products to customers over the Internet itself. - more

Look at the Future & Make a Plan

If You are looking into getting a web site for the first time, You should plan ahead.
Some people start small and as their business expands they expand their web site.
They add extra pages or an extra incentive to draw customers such as Games, Guest book or the like.
It is always best to try and change the site as often as possible, especially the front page content. People will return to your site more often if you have different content to look at or special offers showing that draw the customers deeper into the site.
Unfortunately this means extra expense. The hosts usually charge a price for updates and this has to be accounted for so don't forget to look to the future and what you want as an end result.
Try to budget for the best results but don't forget to stick to your budget.
Get the best deal you can, but also don't forget that the cheapest deal is not always the best.
